Description:The Journal of the Siam Society is published by the Siam Society under Royal Patronage, one of Thailand’s oldest and most active learned organizations. At the Society’s foundation in 1904, it was resolved that “The objects of the Society shall be the investigation and encouragement of Art, Science and Literature in relation to neighbouring countries.” In 1924, the Society adopted the motto “Knowledge gives rise to friendship.” The Journal of the Siam Society has been published continuously since 1904. The Journal publishes original articles of a scholarly nature on Thailand and neighbouring countries in a wide range of disciplines including archaeology, epigraphy, history, ethnology, religion, language, literature, art and architecture, and performing arts.
